Data/Ministry set to rule the world of dance music

Ministry of sound's offshoot dance label (Data) has just released its 100th tune commercially this week (and its 101st as well) which was the excellent Mish Mash "Speechless". It sounds exactly how a top notch disco stomper should sound and has roped in the usual remixers to tighten up the production.
They have also dusted off the dormant "Dance Nation" brand to bring a compilation cd that must have its few remaining competitors hanging their heads in shame. Even if some of the tracks appear a touch commercial thats only because they were first appearing on other MOS releases as tracks 17-22 (the usual place for the more up front stuff/more eclectic tracks) which then move into the first 10 on a cd when they are due for release to the average punter.
It seems as if every decent track is being signed up for Data now (future releases include Switch "A bit Patchy", Wonderland "White Horse" and Supermode "Why") and with Ministry ruling the compilation market, (even its competitors such as Gatecrasher appear on the ministry label), its only a matter of time before every new dance track is ministry owned. If you seem sceptical, dont forget ministry just bought the Hed Kandi franchise so how long till they own Defected, Postiva and all the rest?? Only time will tell if the ministry logo will be a good thing or a bad thing for the dance floor.

check out their newly launched website as well, looks quite funky and you can see some of the new videos... i recommend the Joey Negro-Make a move video

The more text the better! Its nice because there's no pressure to get anything done - this is a site for putting awesome things we find when we find them, or saying stuff when we think about things, but with the minimal effort possible! Kinda like having a conversation only cutting out all the rubbish and saving for eternity anything that is worthwhile. Good set last night BTW - particularly Naarlz Baark Lea.
