New York to get 500 new CCTV cams

Some how this is a major deal, yet in the UK we wouldn't even notice 500 new cams being put up. There are an estimated 10-15 million of them in this country, compared to 38,000 in the whole of France! New York City has about the same number as Colchester has, with only 1000 covering their whole subway system. In Britain we've some how accepted CCTV as a good thing and don't care about our privacy being invaded.

That's right kids, them there sneakers from Back to the Future, the ones that lace up up automatically are the subject of one man's campaign to make them a reality. There are so far 8452 names on the list (yes, I'm number 8452).

    Busdriver sample Prodigy

The bloke that brought you the song about the first Black astronaut a year or two ago, has sampled No Good (Start The Dance) and hiphoped it up - the rap works, the tempo changes are strange but kinda cool, its well worth checking out - shame it decends into French halfway through - 'Bus Cuizinier' is the first track on his myspace player.

Top Ten Tunes that have me excited!

I thought i'd list the the ten tracks that have me jumping around my room or quiverring in excitement for the full remix packages and releases. Its summer time and WMC's just been so its a great time for djs and music lovers alike.
Im sure most my top 10 will be the tunes you hear all summer long, or come back around at some stage to fufil the needs of the dancefloor massive:

    • The Egg & David Guetta - 'Little More Love / Walking Away' (White Label)
    • Eddie Thorneick & Kurd Maverick - 'Love Sensation' (Cr2 Records)
    • Switch - 'A Bit Patchy (Eric Prydz Remix)' (Data)
    • Tall Paul-Rok Da House 2006
    • Gnarls Barclay-Crazy (Karl G remix)
    • Rob Boskamp-In the Evening (Data)
    • Chris Lake-Changes (Vocal version)
    • Bob Sinclar Feat Steve Edwards - 'World, Hold On (Axwell Remix)' ( Defected)
    • Mousse T & Dandy Warholes - 'Horny As Dandy (Tom Novy Mix)' (Positiva)
    • Supermode-Tell me Why (steve angello) (data)

and a bonus one is Stu Allan-Such a Feeling

All the above tracks are well worth a place in the dj dna record bag and will probably get a play at the next Fuse night!

    You "Guetta" get this track...

Im not one to advocate illegal downloading but if i was then i'd be recommending that you logged onto some such illegal download program or search high and low on ebay or some record crates and grab the following track:

The Egg & David Guetta - 'Little More Love / Walking Away'

Its a white label mash up of "The Egg-Walking away", (which was/still is one of the biggest Electro dance tracks. With its minimal beeps and great tension building structure it gets people on the dancefloor) and "David Guetta's-Little more love" (which was a big dancefloor pleaser in its on right). I think with the catchy vocal of little more love on the top of "Walking Aways" electro house rhythms then a lot more people may be turned onto this. Its getting plays on Radio 1 (pete tong) and i think this is gonna be big this summer,,,,,prob end up on one of the big labels no doubt

Rating: DJ DNA Deficients record bag!

    Arctic Monkeys...Remixed

An arctic monkeys' fan has decided to do some excellent mash ups combining the sheffield bands tracks with other indie bands such as Kaiser chiefs and The Killers

Radio 1 DJ wages / 10 star reviews / Fingerprints

  • Radio 1 wages leaked - Jo Whiley gets £250k for spouting innane rubbish at us every morning. The awesome Zane Lowe gets £130k, nearly double legend Pete Tong's £70k. Yet both of them are top of their game and bona fide geniuses. Having never listened to Sara Cox's weekend show, I can't really comment on the £200k she gets for doing just 2 shows. Colin and Edith get £170k and £175k respectively - hows that for equality?! 700 squids a show seams fair to me, they are quite good. Scott Mills gets £130k and Moyles gets £630k. Source
